The Path of Color Evolving
My winding path-
It was always hard to maintain solidity and opaqueness within the lines-
As a child I created a space
With tiny lamps and blankets deep in a closet with my first blank page-
There I created imaginary forms,
mostly pinks and blues-
The colors of my skin and deep bodies of water and the ways the two connected-
In this way I grew-
Inches on inches, and angled
my way through expectations and dissolution into adulthood-
The pink sometimes turning hostile blood red; the blue, sometimes shades of languid grey-
Intentional.
The dusty shades of the desert.
The pink of my mouth as it speaks truth, my truth, and mixes with new shades always to adapt-
The blue of my eye as it shyly lifts from the ground and looks directly in the eyes of life-
All colors, blaze. And mine, leave delicate stains behind me as I grow.
