The Pain Will Soften
A gentle reminder that the heaviest emotional storms will eventually quiet down
I can hear your thoughts
Going through your mind
Shouting so loud
Like an alarm
Wondering how to make it through the night
Crying and tired of the struggle
Screaming through pain
Wondering if the pain would end
I know how you're feeling
I once had loud thoughts
I once was afraid of the night
I once wondered if this pain would ever end
But I learned the pain doesn’t end
It softens
The pain will soften
The alarm will become quieter
The flooded tears will ease
I know it sounds like a lie
You don’t have to believe me
Just don’t give up
I didn’t give up
This is a reminder that in those heavy times, the pain will soften. When we are in the dark, hurting, it feels heavy now, and it feels like forever, but that pain will feel lighter as we keep fighting. Not giving up makes us stronger and, in the end, alive because we survived. We are stronger, and we are not giving up.
