The Owl Who Lives in My Tree
I feel safe with him watching over me

The Owl Who Lives in My Tree
The owl who lives in my tree
watches the moon wake up slow
his eyes are two bright lanterns
he blinks at stars like they are friends
Sometimes he tilts his head
He never says much
but when he flaps his wings
the leaves hush and listen
and I feel like the world is my secret
I leave crumbs for him in the grass
and he nods like he understands
every wish I hold in my pocket
every giggle I hide in my sleeve
When the night spreads wide
he coos a lullaby of feathers
and I drift like a tiny boat
floating toward dreams only he knows
The owl who lives in my tree
is a guardian of small wonders
and I, a wide-eyed child
learn how to hold magic in my hands
When morning tiptoes near
he folds his wings and blinks
and I carry the hush of night
inside my pockets like tiny stars
And I know in my heart
he waits for me always
the owl who lives in my tree
keeper of quiet, keeper of me
