The Owl and the Pussycat
Went for a summers walk

The Owl and the Pussycat
The Owl and the Pussycat went for a walk,
On a summer’s day too warm for talk.
The meadows dozed in golden light,
The air was still, the sky was bright.
Pussycat sighed, her whiskers drooped,
“The sun is turning me into soup!”
Owl just chuckled, blinking slow,
Let’s find some shade where, winds blow.
They strolled until they found a tree,
With branches wide and wild and free.
They rested there in dappled shade,
And watched the butterflies parade.
The river sparkled, soft and wide,
So in they waded, side by side.
They splashed, they laughed, what fun
And let the breeze kiss everyone.
So if you walk on a summer’s day,
Find a friend and dream away.
For even the hottest afternoon,
Can hum a soft and gentle tune.
