I entered the October forest and
listened to the shush of the
Fall leaves of Octobers past
against my shoes.
Layer upon layer of autumns
underneath my feet, a cushion
for the woods that stay still only
in October.
The path winds and twists, uphill
and downhill, and falls into the
golds, reds, yellows, and oranges,
colors of October.
The fog from the cozy, rainy days
make the Fall leaves damp and
the sweet smell permeates
the October air.
If only, the path would stay.
