There is a woman with an ocean inside

It’s cold and brutal with pain in its tide

It’s been growing since her day of birth

And it carries all she has ever felt on earth

Monsters of abuse polluted her water.

To not trust the world they taught her

Touching and groping without consent

Leaving behind waves of torment

Her ocean of pain is unseen by the world

Judgments and false words hurled

Hiding behind a facade of beauty and charm

She has learned how to absorb the harm

Hurricanes swirl through her inner brine

Coldness thrives without the sun’s shine

Her need for revenge has drifted away

She only longs to be her ocean’s castaway
