Where the Words Go

Blank

White

Emptiness

Stares back,

Interspersed with a web of iridescent color.

Words I'd typed so meticulously

Poured out into nowhere,

Forever invisible.

Forever silent.

Lost to me and to the world.

The unknowing care not.

Eventually, time will erase them all.

Time, feeding on thoughts and emotions

And discarding the bland,

Leaving no trace,

In an alien construct full of nothing.

Surrounded by nothing.

Some of the words had

Meaning.

Purpose.

Intent.

Some never did.

Some did and grew tired.

Others outgrew themselves,

Losing coherence.

Some found their own will

And fled for freedom.

None matter now, in the endless void.

Slowly

the

colors

die.

Thanks for reading! This came to me while I was unable to write, because I dropped my laptop and fractured the LCD. No way to get to my password files, no way to check in. I've never felt so disconnected. Fortunately, I found a source and could replace the display myself.

Please leave a comment, and "hearts" are always appreciated.
