The Noise Inside Me

My uneasy mind tries to cope. Some days I can I think?

The Noise Inside Me

I wake some days,

feeling built

from torn thoughts,

stitched together wrong.

My mind stays loud,

pages screaming,

notes falling hard

against my skull.

I try to breathe,

but the noise climbs,

twisting words

into sharp shapes.

I feel myself crack,

like broken paper,

fragile pieces

barely holding on.

Some nights I stare,

at nothing at all,

yet everything moves

like a storm inside me.

I fight to stay,

to hold the calm,

to keep my face

from falling apart.

They never see it,

the quiet damage,

the weight of thoughts

that will not rest.

So I keep walking,

even when shaking,

holding the pieces

as tight as I can.

And maybe one day,

my own mind

will loosen its grip,

and let me breathe.
