The Night I Didn’t Sleep
First thoughts how can I survive today on just 3 hours

The Night I Didn’t Sleep
Night stretched wider than it should,
hours refusing to move on.
Dark pressed in from every side,
patient until the dawn.
Thoughts lined up like strangers,
each waiting for their turn.
Every regret spoke clearly,
every bridge I failed to burn.
The ceiling became a witness,
staring back without reply.
Questions circled endlessly,
each one asking why.
Fear dressed itself as logic,
made convincing arguments.
Exhaustion blurred the edges,
between truth and what it meant.
I watched the clock betray me,
minute by minute slipping through.
Time felt personal in its cruelty,
as only sleepless hours do.
Somewhere near the edge of morning,
the mind finally gave in.
Rest came not as comfort,
but as a thin and fragile win.
When daylight touched the window,
I felt older than before.
A night without sleep can change you,
and teach what darkness is for.
This is true and it was my night last night. Sleep would not come. Today my eyes sting because they are tired. I will however fight this still till midnight tonight, then maybe there is some hope I will switch off 😊
