Diarrhea of the mouth, Logorrhea.
Communicable disease transmitted by the paternal politicians and propagandists, exacerbated and spread by phallotechnic media.
The dystopian novels of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley feared fascism, the ruling ideology which maintains the rights of the state over the individual. Cyberpunk is heavily influenced by such science fictional works where the cult of fascism reigns its terror as hackers secretly try to disrupt the dystopian discord. Hackers use code to disrupt the logorrhea that permeates the minds of the citizens overwhelmed by propaganda.
Though the fascist discord of Germany, Italy and Japan were defeated, it seems that a form of it prevailed in the conservatism of England and America and in the communism of Soviet Union. Politically, wartime England and America of World War II resembled the fascist states that it claimed to be defeating.
The current Islamic fascism of countries like Iran are the new types of religious fanaticism that restrict individual rights. Fascism seems to prevail when countries enter wars.
Dystopian novels warned the Western world of the evil that lurks in the name of good and freedom.
Philip K. Dick and the cyberpunk movement continue the warning that we are in trouble and that the enemy is not outside the country but within. Thus, paranoia is a key element of the genre.
