The Nature of Things

Cycles

By Isarah EtiennePublished 8 years ago 1 min read

I watched as my soul spewed into my hands

I tried to hold it

To put it back

But it slipped through my fingers

The inky blackness

Pooled at my feet

Specks of stardust

Staining my fingers

It was getting harder and harder to breathe

I didn't want this

It was too soon

But I guess it always is

It spilled from my mouth

Metal coated my tounge

Eyes heavy

I watched

What was once mine

Seeped back into the soil

My light

Returned to the stars
