The Move
For Real Poetic's One Year Anniversary Challenge
Note: this is for Real Poetic's challenge (acrostic with the word 'Anniversary'):
Extra Note: I am also writing this on the last day before I move out of a place I have lived in for about seven years. I am tired, stressed out, still looking for books and bags, and wondering what my place will be like...
So this is right off the cuff.

Am I really this far along?
Not really feeling it tonight;
Not really ready to give up a place like this;
I love the life I have led;
Very close to my neighbours, parks, routes,
Every conceivable form of distraction.
Really, I should have found something closer to this spot...
So, that is all I have to say
About the passage of time,
Regrets about this great jump into another place... And...
Yes, I have more to say...

Fantastic poem! ❤️😍
Oh, change. So many emotions and opportunities. Great insight
Moving on is exciting sad optimistic and regretful all at the same time. Great Arcostic
I lived in the same house 35 years in a nice neighborhood. Leaving it and going to a poorer neighborhood for a fresh start was hard. Your poem embodies that feeling
Every time you move you leave a piece of you behind, your friends, memories and land space. Still, newness is an opportunity to experience another slice of the wonderful pie chart called life. Best of luck with the new adventure.
This made me emotional. I hate leaving things or a place behind. Loved your take on this challenge
Moving is certainly hard. I feel everyone have those thoughts
Nice entry. Best wishes.
This piece pulses with emotion. Anyone who's faced a major life change I think could resonate. May your ending lead to a blessed beginning.
Best wishes in your new home! It can be tough letting go, and I hope nothing but good things for you in your fresh start.
It's difficult to give up the familiar comforts and connections of their current life ...and embark on a new journey.
