The Mouse That Lived in a Castle

A mouse lived in a castle,
He oh so loved his home.
He loved it when the king and queen
Were away the most.

He ate grand food for every meal,
He would sleep on the king’s bed.
It was cosy for his little head.

One night the king seen him,
He shouted, “Hey, little mouse!
I hear you in the nighttime,
Scattering through this castle.

Come here, you little rascal,
Come to me.
I don’t mind you here, you see.
It’s like having a guard dog,
A dog I just can’t see.”

The mouse felt at ease now,
All cosy with his king.
He asked his servant for some cheese
To feed this little mousey thing.

So that little mouse got knighted,
He now is working for the king.
They live in peace and harmony,
A truly remarkable thing.
