Looking at the climb.

When the sun rises, do you know what to do

Or are you a lost one facing the climb

Knowing that it might not be through

For each to seize the moment, that moment in time

When the sun rises

Are you the first to see its light

Cup in hand at the crack of dawn that neighbor despises

You're already up and going, training for the fight

There's little to do in the dark of night

When out come the infinite disguises

The masks going on at the fall of the light

A distant memory it is, that moment when the sun rises

Do you scrape and crawl

Desperate to get to the summit of things

Hoping not to fall

Nervous with every sound of the phone's rings

When the sun rises

It's a gift that few will see

For when the sun rises

It's a new day to be who you want to be

The day drags on from when you start

And it's up to you to face the future on your terms

Nobody said it wouldn't be hard

But what else do you have to do except make a date with the worms

When the sun rises, get up and get started on the journey, dear friends

Behind you is something more daunting than the hill

It's a challenge that inherently never ends

Separating most from the winning thrill
