The Morning That Broke My Eyes

A Poem

By Benn twissPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Before I rose, it was dark. Still and peaceful.

As I rose it was aggressive, this huge vermillion ball of fire was attacking my eyes, my state of rest had been ruined and there was no way it could return. It seemed my tranquility would never reenter my somewhat painful life.

No sleep after chasing questions around in my mind all night long, why? When? How? The pessimism surrounding my own head was earth shattering. Chasing dragons. They’re mythical, I think not. I’m not who I used to be.

Trying to take a grip on positivity, I closed my tired and they seemed to roll back in my head, it’s gone the peace is now with you, chase it, chase it with the dragons.
