The Moonlit City
A Tapestry of Silent Longing
The moon paints the city silver, a canvas vast,
But beneath its glow, shadows dance, memories cast.
Empty streets whisper secrets, echoes of laughter gone,
Doors stand closed, stories untold, waiting for the dawn.
Neon signs bleed color, advertisements shout,
Yet offer no solace, to the lost love's silent drought.
Streetlamps hold vigil, casting pools of light,
Where couples once strolled, hand in hand, under the starry night.
A lone taxi honks, a mournful cry,
In the vast silence, where dreams used to lie.
Buildings sigh, steel and glass giants cold,
Holding within them, stories yet untold.
A cat slinks, its shadow fleeting,
Across the pavement, secrets keeping.
The wind whispers through alleyways,
Carrying stories of joy, turned to sorrowful days.
But the moon hangs above, a silent witness,
To the ebb and flow of life's bittersweetness.
For even in darkness, stars begin to gleam,
Offering hope, whispered in a silvery stream.
Perhaps amidst the silence, a new melody starts,
A story unfolds, with gentle, healing arts.
For the city never sleeps, it breathes and it sighs,
Holding dreams yet to bloom, beneath the moonlit skies.
