The Moon in Love

about a dream that changed my life

"The Moon and The Universe"

A landscape of lush verdant fields marry with the hum and buzz of bees pollinating our lavender,

All I can focus on is the hiss, chirp, hiss -

of those damn cockroaches,

Yet still at ease, it’s as if the lavender beds are whispering and lulling me to sleep,

And right on time a golden dewy sky casts over all of us here together -

and I inhale the herbal, heedlessly saccharine scent of the lavenders dancing in unison,

Then I hear it again, the flap and flutter of her wings -

Her dominance commands me to gape and gawk at her holy body,

A beast dressed in violet coating and violent, keen edged amethyst eyes

There are no words to describe such a creature, I can’t help but wonder -

If the lavenders animated her into existence -

she boomed her biting, beady glare towards me,

And as I soaked in her extraordinary size,

She told me her name, ‘The Graces, of Luna’

A week passed, or perhaps a year, there was no way to deduce how time works here,

I open my eyes and adjust to the brightness, the sun is peering into my soul,

Before I recover, i'm sprinkled by stinging salty sea water,

All I can feel in this moment is alive

But i'm interrupted by the bubbling burst, crack and pop of coconuts washing up the coast,

I wonder where I am

And why I am here

Suddenly Im stuck, trapped in a torrid dense cloud of tropical tyranny

And then I hear it, feel it, taste it -

The ground begins to rumble and roil and rock, the sand pulsates rapidly -

Lava

Pele herself is surging and soaring in the earth’s core,

Her heat radiates through sand, evaporates through tides,

I'm comforted by her presence

She's warm, and nurturing,

She lets my toes sink into her earth without resistance,

And in that moment her breath whisks my body -

And carries my soul

She cradles my inner child, with an apical stroke she eases my pain

As if I really was her own child,

I realize I am hers forever,

Then I feel my hair disperse as my head declines downward

And my body descends into -

A rhythm

4 seconds

Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,

I hold my breath

8 seconds

Utter silence ..

Utter silence ..

Nothingness

And I release my breath as everything soaks in,

The oxygen hits my lungs and hypnotically I float, as if intoxicated,

I listen -

truly listen to the harmonies of the nightingales,

Their voices instruct the tides to move to the beat of their song,

Together they carry one another with the wind,

And I sway and I whirl as I fly through the universe in synchronization with

The rhythms of time and space,

I spin and I dance, and I accelerate,

Something is pushing me

Helping me

But I don't reject her anymore -

I let her in -

she propels my spinning body at extreme velocity,

And i feel my soul roar,

The steady beat I danced is getting louder, louder -

Electrifying,

Illuminating -

A glimmer of magenta, ultramarine, malachite, xanthous, amber and crimson converge -

into an entity that I’m moulding into

Hypnotized -

I simply watch the universe expand and create itself for me

All of time, working together,

Past, present and future cement into one -

we unite

And I absorb everything

As everything absorbs me -

After 10 revolutions

I have a revelation

And then I awake

And so she nestles me against her heart

And guides me through life once more,

A presence I thought I’d never feel again,

I no longer have to question

‘Why I am here’

But instead I feel at peace

That I will always be

Where I need to be.
