and they were beautiful

I met the moon and stars tonight. They were beautiful. But half hidden, as if trying to reach out to me but couldn’t amid the dismal cloud of light. It’s always there.

Blinding

Penetrating.

It’s meant to help us I suppose, but at what cost? It keeps us as if in a prison of our own making. Forcing us to work for it, to maintain it. What are we to do besides try to find our own tiny bit of sky through the suburban dream? Our tiny bit of Summerland we’ve only forgotten.

But how the Moon and stars reminded me tonight that they are always there, despite our blindness. Always reaching out for us through the darkness trying to bath us in their white glow. She will never give up. We simply only have to look up and view her. I love it.
