Dear moon, we are aligned tonight.

The clouds obscure you like my trials in life.

We want to escape but the grip is too tight.

So giving you are with your reflection of light,

But the clouds and the mist represent great strife.

Dear moon, we are aligned tonight.

I want to be heard or seen so I fight.

I would shout it out stronger, but the mist forms a knife.

We want to escape but the grip is too tight.

Your glow is a blur pushing through with great might.

We have so much to show, but not in this night’s life.

Dear moon, we are aligned tonight.

My head up tomorrow, the clouds will take flight.

My thoughts expressed, your light shining bright.

Dear moon, we are aligned tonight.

We want to escape but the grip is too tight.
