The Monsters You’re Scared Of

YOU need to take care of

By Ecarg NosivePublished 2 days ago • 1 min read

The rose colored glasses are broken

And now I see

If there is a bed, you are hiding underneath

If there is a closet, you’ll open it for a scream

If there are foggy woods you’ll whistle as you prey

Good intentions don’t mean anything when the outcome is the same

As the monsters they claimed you were

That now, I get to endure

Because you entered an angel

Departed one too

It wasn’t until I was separated from the love that I got the real view

The real you

Whether you meant to or not

You used me for what you needed at the time

I gave my whole life

while you waited for me to die

I’m left with these cold nights

Reminiscing on the you that was never mine

Finding warmth in my dreams

But waking up crying

The nightmare persists and you are why

No longer care if this hurts

Feel something

So not just I am

Feel the guilt

Of hurting a good person while trying to be a good person but failing once again

Look within

Find the monster we all came to know

Don’t blame us for our reaction to your problems

Please solve them before you love again

Save her the hurt

I’m begging

On my knees

Praying to see this as a lesson

But it’s yours to learn

There’s nothing more terrifying than not evolving on your own

I hope I’m the last one to meet your shadows

Haunted by the memories of your costume

Now I’ll take it off

and shriek like they do

Yet somehow I’ll still

Never not love you

That’s my scariest part

But I’ll look in the mirror and face it

While you look in yours with no reflection

Invisible to us all

heartbreak
