The Monster In His Head
The untamed must never be obeyed

The Monster In His Head
He woke in the dark,
the room cold as stone,
his breath held tight,
as if scared to move.
He heard a name,
one he never spoke,
a warning sound,
like a voice from before.
He touched the wall,
it trembled back,
as if alive,
as if it knew him.
His thoughts grew loud,
sharp as broken glass,
spinning fast,
pulling him under.
He walked in circles,
waiting for calm,
yet calm never came,
only deeper fear.
The monster sat close,
smiling in the dark,
feeding on doubt,
growing with each breath.
He asked for peace,
only silence came,
a heavy weight,
pressing on his chest.
He knew the truth,
it lived in him,
it whispered lies,
and called itself home.
