Anger.
Runs through my essence like hot coals.
Gifted to me by my fathers.
A friendly touch yet a heavy hand on your shoulder when it comes.
A decision that happens in a moment you cannot comprehend.
It can tear your soul to pieces.
Make a ruin of your life.
To lose love.
To drink it into submission.
To sit in a cell.
I will not forget the day I mastered the monster I call anger.
To shake that hand.
To make peace with one who destroyed you.
It can not be contained.
Bottled up.
Extinguished.
To find peace with the monster, you have to let it out.
Wrangle it.
Bring it in tight.
And control it.
Even the worst emotion can be conquered.
If you simply let it be your friend.
