The Model Village

A little day out

I am small, yet they are even smaller still,

Tiny forms frozen in a single place,

A little red train on little brown tracks,

Puffs of steam not smoak, crossing open space,

The hand holding mine tugs to lead the way,

Look over there, do you see? There’s a cow,

Only an inch, the size of your thumb,

And those figures there, they are dancing, wow!

Sticky ice-cream fingers, sweet on the tongue,

Apply more sun cream, put your hat back on.

One more look at the little cows and sheep,

Walking past a small pond with a small swan.

Feet hurting and tired, time to go home now.

Oh look it’s a bee, no, it’s a wasp! Ow!
