There is no connection between my brain and my heart

To reconcile your absence

No electrodes to make sense of the missing part and say

ADJUST COURSE

Only a hole in my heart

That my brain cannot compute

Leaving me to flounder

As I try to throw myself over this hurdle

To comprehend the pain

And the nothingness

That has been left since you’ve been gone

An injury that my body cannot heal

That pills cannot aid, though they have tried

No way to fix this gap in connection

Between my thoughts and my emotions

Something only time can mend

Over an entire life
