The Mermaid And The Bermuda Triangle

She was not lost, though the maps said she should be,

Not broken, not drifting without any guide,

She moved through waters that swallowed the known,

Where compasses failed and the truth chose to hide.

The Triangle held more than whispers and myths,

It carried a silence that bent every line,

Ships disappeared without leaving a mark,

And time lost its shape in that uncertain design.

She watched them arrive with their confident course,

Their engines alive with a purpose so clear,

Yet one by one they would falter and fade,

As if something deeper was drawing them near.

Her eyes held a knowledge the surface denied,

A calm that had nothing to do with the light,

She did not lure them with beauty or song,

She simply remained as they slipped from their sight.

For she had once followed the pull of that place,

Curiosity wrapped in a fearless disguise,

And found not a monster nor terror below,

Though something far stranger had opened her eyes.

It was not destruction that waited beneath,

Nor chaos that swallowed the paths they had drawn,

It was a stillness that altered the self,

A place where the sense of direction was gone.

Now she drifts through the edge of that endless divide,

Not captive, not free in the ways we would know,

A part of the quiet that reshapes the lost,

Where endings dissolve and no answers will show.
