The Memories in My Mind
They Poke and Prod and Penetrate
Running through the naked portions of my thoughts
My memories are the phallic symbols of my mind
They poke and prod and penetrate Thinking they can dominate Wherever they shall integrate
Hot rod racing toward a crash
Single motion we do clash
A little hygiene and a splash
My memories are the happy times left behind
They leave me laughing in a crowd
Talking to myself outloud
No matter where or why I'm proud
My memories are the living traces that still bind
Like a movie in rewind
A little tickle to remind
Open eyes that once were blind
My memories are the wheels divine
Gentle grind
Mostly kind
Are the memories in my mind

This was really good! Well done!!!
Artfully done and executed. Remembering the moments along the way are what makes life worth the expense. Good job!
Memories are definitely our most priced possession! Loved your poem Rick!
They can be sweet. They can be bitter. They can be bitter-sweet.
Oh wow, as someone who gets lost in memories sometimes, I connected with this! What a flow to this, excellent!
Wow, love this one Rick. A lot said on this piece, ‘memories are happy times left behind.’ Beautiful and sad.
