Tick tock, tick tock
The hands of the clock
Never slowing, never stopping
Time keeps moving, never dropping
-
From the moment we are born
We are bound by its form
A constant companion
Guiding us through life's canyon
-
We chase after it, try to catch
But it slips through our grasp
We long for more of it
But it always seems to split
-
It flies by in the blink of an eye
Leaving us wondering why
Moments we want to hold onto
Disappear, like morning dew
-
It's a thief, stealing our youth
A master, playing with our truth
We think we have all the time in the world
But it's a lie, waiting to unfurl
-
It's a teacher, with lessons to teach
A preacher, with sermons to preach
It reminds us to savor each passing day
For time, we cannot delay
-
It's a healer, mending broken hearts
A revealer, of our inner parts
It shows us what truly matters
And what we should let shatter
-
Tick tock, tick tock
The hands of the clock
Reminding us to make the most
Of the time we have, before it's lost
-
So let us live each moment with grace
And not let time go to waste
For in the end, it's not the seconds or hours
But the memories we make, that truly empower.
