The Melancholy Moon
A Serenade to a Lonely Orb
Once it rose, a sight so grand
The moon so bright, on the midnight stand
Its beauty and grace, a celestial show
A wonder of the heavens, a soft warm glow
*
But now it rises, to a sky so still
A lonely orb, with no one to thrill
Its radiance dimmed, by clouds above
Leaving behind, a sky without love
*
The melancholy moon, its sorrow so real
A lonely heart, that no one can heal
Its silent song, a mournful tune
A serenade to the night, a lonely moon
*
It waxes and wanes, with no end in sight
A symbol of time, in the dead of night
But still it shines, with a light so pure
A beacon of hope, for all to endure.
