The Mad Hatter

An imaginative poem and a crazy song

By Rasma RaistersPublished 3 days ago • 1 min read

He was mad,

as mad as a hatter,

I would see him on rainy days,

out there laughing at the rain,

but then his life was such,

much more interesting than mine.

With best friends,

that were all –

more than ordinary clowns.

Laughter often filled the days,

with many funny things,

they would all say.

Living in his fantasy world,

life was as jolly as,

riding upon carousel horses -

most every day.

Taking tea with the Mad Hatter

and feeling so much like Alice,

I would take his hand,

he would show me a world,

where colors are bright,

nothing is right,

but it’s a worry-free world,

turned topsy-turvy,

where smiles and laughter rule the day

and the Mad Hatter and I –

would go dancing in the rain.
