A rare and precious gem, once shining bright

Now lost and forgotten, out of sight

Its luster and beauty, a distant memory

Once treasured and loved, now a mystery

*

In the earth it once lay, hidden and still

A glittering treasure, impossible to fill

But greed and lust for power, took its place

And now it's gone, with not a trace

*

The world is poorer, for what it's lost

A beauty unique, at any cost

The memory remains, but the gem is gone

And all that's left, is a mournful song

*

For what once was rare, is now no more

Its shining radiance, forever a lore

In the hearts of those who saw its light

Its beauty lingers, a sorrowful sight.
