I’ve seen them fight. He’s not always… stable.” “Where can I find him?” Ava asked, making a mental note. “He lives downtown. I can give you the address.” Samantha’s voice was barely a whisper.

After a quick drive, Ava arrived at Eric’s apartment, a run-down building that clashed with his glamorous girlfriend’s lifestyle. She knocked sharply on the door, her instincts telling her this man held answers.

It swung open to reveal Eric—disheveled hair, tired eyes, a look of shock that flickered across his face.“Detective Sinclair,” she introduced, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation. “I need to ask you about Ella.”
