The land of Lantern Waste

A journey into Narnia, where it is always winter but Santa never arrives.

By Cheryl E PrestonPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I have arrived in a world

Where a lantern leads the way

It never stops shining

Neither night nor day

In this land, it's always winter

But Christmas never comes

I close my eyes and listen

As I hear the guiding light hum

I'm in Narnia by Lantern Waste

The air is crisp and cool

Snowflakes silently fall

Yet there is no sign of the tides of Yule

The light is the bridge between

The Sons of Adam's land

And the realm ruled by

The mystical, powerful Asland

I shiver in the cold darkness

With apprehension and fear

Then someone calls my name

And "poof" Narnia disappears

Lantern Waste is only a street light

Shining on a warm fall evening

I've imagined it all

How dreadfully deceiving
