The Keeper of Precious Things

Home is built piece by piece and adored for its pieces

By Teralyn PilgrimPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Home is my mother’s

Dreamed of and longed for

Built piece by piece

And adored for it’s pieces

Home was where she loved the trees

Wandered the paths on her horse

Told tales of fairies

Blinking hues in rain drops

Home is what she gave me

When she left and the family wept

And the magic left with her

Except the shards I salvaged

The estate and legacy falls to me

I care for her treasures

I have changed nothing

I become the keeper of precious things
