The Invisible Fight

And I'm here again: 'en medias res'...

Somehow I always manage to stumble

straight into the middle of

an unknown scene.

The beginning cannot be traced and the 'end' is

elusive;

It evades the shackled constraints that are born from nouns.

It is the singular, constant, and unchanging

predetermined destination

that we are all subjected to.

The path may change, harshly and unexpectedly,

but no matter how nonsensical the meanderings may appear,

The journey's end will always remain the same.

Powerless against the current,

we are tempest tossed

from one place

to another.

As we attempt to navigate our way through the rough seas of youth;

experiencing the subtleness of the silent sniper

and the melodic thunderings of the magnificent maelstrom;

We are all at the mercy of the universal laws;

laws that simply 'are' -

They occur whether we recognise them (or not).

They do not depend on our personal and/or societal beliefs,

neither do they seek our approval.

Every action has an opposite and equal reaction.

Our decisions impede upon other people's choices,

They have an impact on the outcome, and this impact signifies a change in direction.

A regrouping is needed to re-evaluate the plan.

Flexibility is a great skill to possess...

The truth is reflected in its definition,

It's definition makes it real.

And so we all struggle with our own invisible fights,

Beautiful phenomena as unpredictable as

The Northern Lights.
