The Indian Restaurant In Town

The Indian restaurant in town,

glows warm against the night.

Spices drifting through the air,

colours rich and bright.

Windows fogged with laughter,

plates passed hand to hand.

Stories shared over curries,

that words don’t always plan.

The scent of cumin and cardamom,

wraps around the room.

Turning ordinary evenings,

into something that blooms.

Families gather around tables,

arguments softened by food.

Strangers sit close together,

united by mood.

Time slows between courses,

as naan is torn and shared.

Moments stretched and savoured,

because someone cared.

Outside the world feels harsher,

colder, faster paced.

Inside there is patience,

and a sense of grace.

The staff move with quiet pride,

knowing what they provide.

Comfort served on warm plates,

night after night.

The Indian restaurant in town,

is more than a place to eat.

It is warmth, memory, belonging,

on a familiar street.
