The Illusion of Connection
How Fear and Obligation Keep Dead Relationships Alive
Human Rules: All relationships end when you decide to let go.
We always assume that maintaining a relationship requires effort from both people.
But the truth is often this: the moment you decide to let go, all the entanglement ends.
Have you ever had this experience?
A relationship, clearly riddled with holes, is painfully held together simply out of a "reluctance to let go";
A friendship, already soured, is maintained out of mere politeness, forcing a facade of harmony;
A family bond, full of control and emotional drain, is endured in silence just because of "blood ties."
We fear loss, fear loneliness, and fear being labeled "cold."
So we trap ourselves in a cycle, using "responsibility" and "morality" to bind ourselves, completely forgetting—the true essence of any relationship is two-way.
