In a world of screens and likes and shares,
We've lost ourselves in endless stares,
At tiny squares of filtered light,
And the illusion of a perfect life.
We scroll and scroll for hours on end,
Feeding our need to comprehend,
The lives of those we barely know,
And comparing ours to their show.
We've traded depth for easy clicks,
And genuine connection for shallow tricks,
Of presenting a curated version of ourselves,
To gain approval from virtual shelves.
But where is the human touch,
In this world of screens that clutch,
Our attention and our hearts,
And tear us further apart?
For true connection requires more,
Than a simple tap and swipe to explore,
It takes effort, time, and empathy,
To build a bond and truly see.
So let us step away from the screen,
And live our lives beyond this dream,
Of likes and followers and fame.
For in the end, what truly matters,
Is not the likes or the numbers we gather,
But the love and the joy we share,
With those around us, who truly care.
