The Icy Parade

After The Winter Parade

Winters icy grip has a way of making time stand still

The winter parade doesn't move the way the others do

The winter parade never sees shade, because the trees have all but died away

The winter parade has its own will

The ice encases you, even with the full power of the sun

As warm as you could ever feel

You realize only in the winter parade

How numb you've really become

So you let it all go and cast your freezing reel

You let your hair down and shout it out loud

But as proud as you could ever feel

You're still just another face, in another crowd

After the winter parade, when the snow begins to melt

Ignoring everything we just felt

We must drag our feet through the mud beneath

Back into the shady arms of Spring
