He walks miles just to find one, covering all the ground he can.
He scouts fields on family outings, making future plans.
He waits for the rain to come, washing off the stones.
He then rushes out to find them, returning muddy head to toe.
Arrowheads and artifacts are calling out his name.
Whether he finds one or several his pleasure is just the same.
It's not just artifacts either, other samples have gathered.
Minerals, gems, fossils, and more, all kinds of geological matter.
He contacts landowners, building stock of hunting locations.
We've even gone rockhounding as the theme of family vacations.
His collection is growing. Cases fill up fast.
My house looks like a natural history museum.
How long can this craze last?
