The Hunt For Me

Lost Somewhere In The Past

has it become too late to find me?

it seems i've lost myself along the way

this squatter living rent free

this stranger trying on my face

is camouflaged completely

buried themselves inside my skin

in an effort to replace me

shedding who I might have been

the ache of loss is devastating

i sit shrouded in my grief

the memory I hold dear, dictating

stealing my secrets like a thief

for years i kept my weapons loaded

cleaned and prepared to join the hunt

my salty tears, my soul eroded

i've lost the desire, this thing, confront

so, i have dissolved into the scenery

those parts of me are overgrown

waiting for someone to come save me

back to my life that's overthrown
