Through the scope he could see the doe

Gentle with grace strutting through the snow

Chill air brushed his face

Frozen nostrils, eyes wet

Tears trickled down his chin

Salty taste on his tongue

Dead silence

He aimed his riffle

The sight was not clear

He lifted his leg to aim better

Crack! Came the sound of a twig

The doe swung it’s neck sharp and swiftly shot into the thick forest

Some people hunt for sport, while others do it for food or to control animal populations. Regardless of the reason, hunting requires skill, patience, and respect for the animals being hunted. It can also be a way to bond with friends and family members who share a passion for the sport.
