The Human Maze of Deception

Working through the maze of lies and liars

The Human Maze of Deception

The pathways twist in shadowed schemes,

Each turn obscured by fractured dreams.

A whispered truth, a crafted lie,

Entwined so tight, none question why.

Footsteps echo, soft yet sly,

Guided by words that cheat the eye.

Promises carved in brittle stone,

Crumbled before the seeds were sown.

A smile conceals a buried blade,

Beneath the silk, the edges fade.

Hands extended, warm embrace,

Yet cold intent leaves not a trace.

Mirrors tilt and faces shift,

Reflections born of practiced thrift.

A tongue that soothes, a heart that strays,

We walk in loops, we lose the days.

Maps are drawn with ink that bleeds,

A trail of dust, a path of needs.

Each guiding star a dying spark,

Each lantern lit to keep us dark.

Some climb high on hollow trust,

Building thrones that turn to dust.

Yet still, we chase the golden gleam,

A fragile hope, a broken dream.

No walls define this maze we tread,

No doors exist, no paths are dead.

We weave ourselves in silken thread,

Unraveling truths we never said.

And so, we roam, yet never find,

A way to leave the maze behind.

For those who walk with hollow breath,

Know well that truth is lost in death.
