The horror, it slumped

Across the hardwood it squelched

The steps wet

with sweat and muck

The skin, it sloughed

Baggy and sagging

Gray and molded

Dead yet undead

The eyes, they screwed

Loose in the head

Pointing to the wall

And to the floor

The smell, how it reeked

Of dead fish and rotten eggs

Soaked in sour milk

And left in the sun

The Horror, it moaned

Screech muffled in a gurgle

To chill your blood

As it trudges for you

Its hand outstretched

Dread fills your heart

The wall stops your escape

A death grip takes your arm

You try to scream

A stench chokes you

A maw covers your mouth and nose

And sucks your life away

The Horror eats

Not satisfied

It finishes you

And looks for more
