The Hope of Something Impossible and the Sorrow of Today's Circumstances

Sometimes it's the escape of the less than likely outcomes that see us through our daily burdens.

By Chris SantiagoPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

Your smile warms my heart like a deep breath.

Your laughter reverberates through me like a tight cord being thrummed.

These things I would cross any chasam for.

I dreamt of you and it still brings the tears of joy for remembrance and the sorrow of loss.

Have I created an illusion? A facsimile of escapism from the tortorous truth. Or is there more beneath the surface?

Do I hope for an impossiblity, something never to be but only fleeting?

I'll gladly embrace the illusion and the impossible delusion over the pain of today's lies.

It might all be a lie, but it's a lie that's all mine, and that I don't mind.

About the Creator

Chris Santiago

I've always found a bit peace and release in putting word to written medium. I'm by no means an accomplished wordsmith but I find enjoyment in it. My love for writing started from world building that being a dungeon master provided.
