Home of Addiction

Chaos brought by many,

adults fueled the chaos within

with addiction

and low vibrating behaviors.

*

We grew and flew

from the home of chaos.

Leaving behind

our stories of woe.

*

Not all days were bad,

the good days sustained us.

One event to hold on to,

goes a long way on sad days.

*

Unfinished home,

tasks undone,

is common

in an addict’s home.

*

Children learn

unhealthy coping methods,

learn to make do,

with very little.

*

Resilience is a must

when crops fail,

when the car breaks down

One must make do.

*

This whole house

was built with wood from

torn down barns.

Resilience skills built this home.

*

Resilience is needed

when shopping for

Christmas.

Simple and cheap or something to make.

*

Resilience is needed

when children grow

out of clothes

but another grows into.

*

Resilience is needed

when the number of beds

do not equal

the number of children.

*

Resilience is what

made this home,

made us who we are

resilient beings who reside in this home.
