The Hollow Shell

Empty Echoes of Joy

A hollow shell I stand, on the shore of despair,

The ocean of laughter, replaced by an icy stare.

Each wave of memory crashes, a painful refrain,

Of love's melody silenced, leaving only the rain.

Laughter's ghost echoes, a cruel, mocking sound,

Haunting the chambers where happiness once was found.

Footsteps on sand, a fading trace,

Of promises whispered, in a forgotten embrace.

Will the tide recede, reveal the shattered pearl within?

Can this empty shell ever feel the sun's warmth again?

Or will I forever stand, a monument to what's lost,

A hollow echo of joy, at an unbearable cost?
