The Heavy Pocket

Carrying the weight of what we lost.

The Heavy Pocket

I reached into my pocket,

expecting to find a coin,

a small piece of copper to buy my bread.

In the cold wind of 2026,

the city was a gray machine.

My fingers touched a stone instead.

A heavy, cold smooth stone

I had picked up years ago.

It was a memory of a day

when I was a man of great character,

standing by a sea that had no end.

I squeezed it in my grip,

the grit of the rock pressing into my skin.

I wanted to throw it away,

to be free from the golden cage of the past.

But my hand would not open.

The stone had become a part of me,

a silent guest in my daily walk.

I looked at the people rushing by,

their eyes fixed on their digital dreams.

They didn't see the weight I carried,

they didn't see the unbreakable spirit

hidden behind my tired coat.

Success is a marathon, they say,

but for me, it was just the next step.

I sat on a wooden bench,

the morning sun hitting the silver dust.

I realized that my pocket was heavy

not with a stone, but with a story.

A sachi kahani of who I was

before the world told me who to be.

I closed my eyes and whispered to the air,

"A new life."

I didn't throw the stone.

I simply learned how to carry it

without it breaking my heart.

Your "Grit" is not in forgetting,

it is in the character you build

while carrying your heaviest days.

Stay firm in your art.

Stay loyal to your truth.

The universe knows your name.
