The Heat Wave That Never Ends
Could we survive with no winter? I couldn’t I hate this heat

The Heat Wave That Never Ends
The sun forgot to say goodbye,
It simply stayed…
Day after day.
Each dawn arrived already tired,
Each evening melted into grey.
The flowers bowed their weary heads,
The grass surrendered into brown,
The birds sang softer than before,
As blazing skies pressed every sound.
The oceans breathed a little less,
The fish searched deeper, further still,
The rivers curled like ancient scrolls,
Obeying some relentless will.
Windows stayed forever wide,
Yet not a breeze could find its way.
Even shadows felt too warm
To offer comfort through the day.
The old recalled forgotten storms,
Of thunder rolling through the hills,
Of dancing barefoot in cool rain,
Of streams that laughed instead of stilled.
But children asked,
“What’s rain like, Nan?
Does water really fall from skies?
Can clouds be heavy, cold and dark,
Or is that only in your eyes?”
The cities shimmered like a dream,
Roads bent beneath the burning light,
The moon itself looked pale with fear,
Unable now to cool the night.
The trees reached out with empty limbs,
Begging heaven for one more chance,
While every leaf became a prayer
Waiting for the rain to dance.
Perhaps the earth is calling us,
Not with anger…
Not with blame…
But with a silence growing louder,
As every season starts to change.
So if tomorrow brings a shower,
Don’t rush indoors or hide away.
Stand beneath those precious drops,
And let them wash your soul that day.
For nothing lasts forever…
So we once believed.
Yet if the heat refused to leave,
Would we remember only then
How beautiful the ordinary had been?
Sometimes the greatest treasures
Are not the things we chase,
But the seasons we took for granted,
Until they vanished without a trace.
