Sundays are always welcome in our home.

In summer, the kids play backyard footy while the parents kick back their

Legs in lawn chairs, cigarettes propped up in ashtrays,

Elegantly wisping hot smoke high into the hotter Queensland air.

No work, no errands, there's nothing to worry about on Sundays, and

Come sunset, after all the neighbourhood kids head home, once more, the

Evening air sits in her perfect silence.
