The Heart and Serpent

A poem by Brian Warner

There's something about the way

The heart and the serpent coiled

That just seems so right

As if they were meant to be

From the start.

There's a fire in their eyes

A passion in their touch

That burns hotter than any flame

And it's hard to resist.

The way they move together

Is both deadly and beautiful

Like a dance between life and death

It's hypnotic and intoxicating.

You can't help but be drawn in

To the intensity of it all

And pray that you don't get burned

By the heat of their union.
